Nellie D Parker

Nellie Maude Davidson Parker, 88, of Taylors, died Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at Greenville Memorial Medical Center. Born in Greer, she was the daughter of the late Lee Jackson and Maude Dobbins Davidson. She was a graduate of Greer High School class of 1936 and retired from Parker Plant off White Horse Road after 22 years of employment. She was a member of Eastlan Baptist Church for over 50 years. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Ken and Margaret Parker and Michael and Patti Parker all of Taylors; a sister, Ruby Jones and a sister-in-law, Christine Davidson both of Greer; seven grandchildren, Charlie Perry and husband, Nelson, and Tanya Skelton all of Easley, Julia Nelle Motts and husband, Tate, of Greenville, Mackenzie, Michael, Standish and Cassidy Parker all of Taylors; two great grandchildren, Scott Cook and Tiffany Perry both of Easley; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, JR Parker, a World War II veteran, a sister, Perron Lollis and a brother, Harold Davidson. Visitation will be held Friday, January 18, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. in the downtown chapel with her nephew, the Reverend Bob James, of Indiana, officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville. Pallbearers will be Nelson Perry, Tate Motts, Scott Cook, Lee Jones, Eli Bishop and Keith Laverty.
