Nelson J Carroll

N.J. Carroll, 91, widower of Faye Spell Carroll, died Monday, October 13, 2008 at the Windsor House. Born in Clover, SC, he was a son of the late Amos Washington and Minnie Browning Carroll. Mr. Carroll was retired from J.P. Stevens and a member of Hampton Heights Baptist Church. He was a United States Air Force veteran having served during WWII. Surviving are three sons, Nelson J. Carroll, Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Greer, Robert Berry Carroll and Roger Brian Carroll both of Greenville; two grandchildren, Nelson J. Carroll, III and Neelie Jones Carroll both of Greer; four sisters, Evelyn McAbee and Doris Porter both of Powdersville, Sybil Jones of Greenville and Mozelle Pittman of Awendaw, SC. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Memorials may be made to the American Leprosy Foundation, 11600 Neble Street, Rockville, MD 20852. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 16, 2008 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:15p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the downtown chapel. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, West. The family will be at 302 Hunting Hill Circle, Greer.
