Nina Powell Burns

Nina Powell Burns, 82, of 24 Lynhurst Drive, died Thursday, July 28, 2005. Born in Spartanburg she was a daughter of the late Theodric and Annie Prince Powell and wife of the late Robert Louis Burns. Mrs. Burns graduated from North Greenville College and was a former schoolteacher. She was a member of Welcome Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, a member of WMU, The Golden Zest and the Prayer Ministry of Welcome Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Annette Mantooth and husband Dennis, of Powdersville; a sister, Ann Elizabeth Sanders, of Concord, NC; two granddaughters, Ashley and husband Chase Stone of Anderson and Hannah Mantooth of Powdersville; a grandson, Matthew Mantooth and wife Amy, of Anderson; and a great-grandson, Guy Stone, of Anderson. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 6:00 ? 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Services will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Welcome Baptist Church. Burial will be in Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery. Willing Love Sunday School Class and the WMU will serve as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Youth Mission Trip Fund or Good News Club of Welcome Baptist Church, 2730 Anderson Road, Greenville, SC 29611. The family is at the home of the daughter, 1216 Cely Road, Easley, SC.
