Norman Irvin Shaffer, 84, of Taylors, SC, beloved husband of the late Carol “Skip” Moore Shaffer, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024.
Born in Windber, PA, he was the son of the late Dean and Allegra Weaver Shaffer.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army, demonstrating his dedication and commitment to his nation.
Norman was a member of Riverside Baptist Church, where his faith was a guiding light throughout his life.
Norman found fulfillment in working with his hands, particularly in woodworking, where his craftsmanship was evident in every piece he created. His passion extended to his love for trains and planes, hobbies that brought him countless hours of joy.
Above all, Norman was a devoted family man who was deeply loved and adored by his children and grandchildren. His strong faith, exceptional work ethic, and unwavering commitment to family values served as a source of inspiration to all who knew him.
He is survived by son, Scott Shaffer (Dawn); daughter, Amy Swearingin; grandchildren, Carter, Nicole, Emily, & Carley; great grandchildren, Liam, Callie, Charleigh, Easton, Daniel, and Scarlett; and brother, David Shaffer.
In addition to his beloved wife Carol, he was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Wissinger.
A reception will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2024, 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Riverside Baptist Church in Greer, SC.
