Patricia Zielinski Fitzgerald

Patricia "Patti" Zielinski Fitzgerald, 66, of 103 Bangor Street, died Sunday, July 20, 2008. Patti was born in Erie, PA, the only child of the late Thaddeus and Victoria Radomski Zielinski. She was the wife of John Francis Fitzgerald. She attended Saint Stanislaus Grade School in Erie, was a postulant at Nazareth Academy in Belleview, PA Pittsburgh for the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, and graduated from East High School in Erie. Patti had worked at the Erie Dry Goods Company, Sears Philadelphia, Liberty Life Greenville, Ingles Markets Simpsonville, Mauldin First Baptist Church Daycare and retired from the Greenville County School District. She married John in 1964 and had five children, Kathryn Robert Smith of Duluth, GA, John Michelle of Easley, SC, Timothy Robin of Greenville, Theresa King and Amy, both of Mauldin. She had 8 grandchildren, Michael and Kayla Fitzgerald of Easley, Cassidy and Connor Smith of Duluth, Morgan Locke and Geoffrey King, both of Mauldin, Sean and Ryan Fitzgerald of Greenville. She also had two step-grandsons, Brandyn and Ethan Harrick of Greenville. She, along with John, was involved for many years in both National and Worldwide Marriage Encounter. They also were members of the Pioneer Square Dance Club. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 12:10 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Patti's name to Birthright of Greenville, 110-F East Butler Road, Mauldin, SC, 29662 or Open Arms Hospice, 1836 W. Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680. Donations for Mass of Remembrances may be sent to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 8 Gillin Drive, Simpsonville, SC 29680. To all of those who have helped us through for the past two years, we thank you so very much. Also, thank you to all that have kept Patti in your thoughts and prayers, brought food in for us, called to check on how we were doing or to see if there was anything that you could do to help, we truly appreciate it. And a special thank you to all the church prayer groups of different faiths- you did not know Patti but you heard of her ordeal and did not hesitate to pray for her- we have appreciated your prayers very much.
