Paul Eugene Childs, Jr., 64, of Gray Court, died Sunday, May 1, 2022.

Born in Charleston, SC, he was the son of Helen Taylor Turner and the late Dr. Paul Eugene Childs, Sr.

Gene was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved his furbabies.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his siblings, Susan Dianne Edwards (Ron), James Michael Godfrey (Jane), Laura Childs Thompson, Theresa Childs Griffin (Terry),  Lawrence “Larry” Duane Childs (Terri), and Roberta Warth; long-time companion, Tina Marie Grillmeier and her children, Shannon Marie Bishop (Richey), Michael Louis Grillmeier (Kaycee) and grandchildren, Autumn, Anthony, Breanna, and Claire; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Paul Childs, Sr. and brother, Russell Mathis.

A visitation will be held Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast.

In lieu of flowers, “Pay it forward”.
