Paul Jerome Guy Sr.

Paul Jerome Guy, Sr., 83, husband of Martha Lewis Guy for 59 years, passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.

The son of James Jeffrey and Sarah Virginia Guy, Paul was born on September 4, 1940, in Anderson County, South Carolina.

Paul was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was a 1958 graduate of Travelers Rest High School. For many years, he owned Guy’s Mechanical and retired in 2004. He also proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Paul leaves behind a legacy of hard work, honesty, and unwavering love. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend and will be greatly missed by everyone who loved and knew him.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by two sons, Jerry (Vickie) and Clayton (Tara); grandsons, Brandon (Destiny); granddaughter, Riley, and Addie Rae; great-granddaughter, Paisley sisters, Audrey Guy, and Fay Hedgepath (Wayne); brother-in-law, Richard Hamilton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joy Guy Hamilton.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Open Arms Hospice for their care, especially to Heather, Stacy, Mark, Joe, and a special thanks to Angie.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 19, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest with the funeral service to follow at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Burial will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in Praters Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
