Peggy Ann Moore

Peggy Ann Shell Moore, 81, of 43 East Circle Avenue, died August 13 at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Harnett County, NC on June 26, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Henry Otis Shell and Mae Benson Shell Langston and is survived by her husband of 62 years, Elvin M. Moore, Jr. Mrs. Moore was a member of the Francis Asbury United Methodist Church, active in the Ruth Poole Circle, the Welcome Sunday School Class and the Young at Heart Fellowship. Her life was centered around home, her husband, children and grandchildren. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sons, Ron Moore and his wife, Mary Jane, and Don Moore and his wife, Terri, all of Greenville; one granddaughter, Rebecca Moore Leach of Richmond, VA; four grandsons, Brad Moore, Russ Moore, Matt Moore, and Andrew Moore, all of Greenville; and one great-granddaughter, Kira Leach of Richmond, VA; two sisters, Evelyn Burts of Spartanburg and Sadie Brosche of Orlando, FL. She was preceded in death by a half sister, Palmyra Powell and her stepfather, Lawton Langston. Memorials may be made to Francis Asbury United Methodist Church, 1800 E. North St., Greenville, SC 29607. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family is at the residence.
