Polly I Jenkins

Polly I. Butler Jenkins, of Devenger Road, wife of Thomas P. Jenkins, went home to be with the Lord on March 25, 2007 after an extended illness. Mrs. Jenkins was the daughter of the late William Ernest and Mary Kay Butler. She loved her family dearly and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a life long member of Roper Mountain Baptist Church. Surviving, in addition to her loving husband of 65 years, are two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ann and Charles Ayers of Greenville, Pat Thackston-Bishop and Henry Bishop of Greenville; a son, Jerry Jenkins of Greer; two grandsons, Scott Thackston and his wife, Kristin, Rex Jenkins; four granddaughters, Mandy Vassey, Kim LueQui and her husband, Steven, Melissa Ayers and Jessica Ayers; three great grandchildren, Drew and Amber LueQui and Kendall Thackston; two sisters, Rachel Jones of Mauldin, Jeanette McClain of Georgia; three brothers, Pat Butler of Colorado, Bill Butler of North Carolina and Harold Butler of Georgia. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom and Joe Butler. The family would like to thank the staff of Roger Huntington Nursing Center for their loving care and the third floor of St. Francis Women?s Hospital. Memorials may be made to Roper Mountain Baptist Church Building Fund, 300 Roper Mountain Road, Ext., Greenville, SC 29615. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Roper Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery, with visitation following at the graveside. The family will be at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Charles Ayers, 7 Whitbread Court, Greenville.
