É inevitável para mim as lembranças que me levam ao ano de 1963, na minha cidade natal, Batatais, neste tempo conhecida como "Cidade Jardim". Na época com 12 anos, na EBD da Igreja Metodista de Batatais, foi apresentada a família visitante:- Pr. Jimmy, Nancy, Mike, Daniel e Sharon. O Terryl é Batataense, nasceu alguns anos após. Dirigia a Igreja nesta época o também saudoso Dr. João Moraes de Paula (presbiteriano de orígem). Sua esposa Ir° Laura era a responsável por eu estar ali. Alguns meses após tinha início a I. Batista Ind. de Batatais, em frente à casa de meus pais, na garagem da casa do Dr. João. Meses depois recebíamos a Cristo como salvador, eu, minha irmã Selma e minha mãe Ana. Meu pai, Sr° Antônio, só muitos anos mais tarde, certamente impactado pela amizade, testemunho e consideração a ele demonstrado pelo Pr. Jimmy e familia, que eram sempre recebidos em nossa casa com muita alegria. Saudades..., muitas saudades. O conforto é saber que nos reencontraremos. Gratidão..., muita gratidão!

Words cannot express the impact that “Uncle Jimmy” has had on our family. From the time we arrived in Brazil in 1975, he and Aunt Nancy have been a treasured part of our family. All 5 of our children were educated in his ACE program. Whenever a small child got a skinned knee or a minor cut or bruise, they were escorted to Uncle Jimmy’s office and allowed to lay on his couch for a few minutes while he gave them a honey packet and prayed for them. He was a constant example of God’s Grace. To Kirk and I, he was our mentor and his love for his Savior and for people was obvious. Brazilians will forever love and be in debt to this servant of the Most High that answered the call of God upon his life. To know him was to love him.

Our family was so blessed to have known Brother Jimmy Rose. His preaching, praying, and witnessing left a mark on those observing him. He preached 10 years in a row the anniversary of the founding of the Igreja Batista Fundamental, in Porto Alegre, Brazil. We participated in those meetings as colleagues of Roger and Sharon Crowder, the founders. Brother Rose was compassionate, straightforward in his preaching, compassionate, consistent in his witnessing, and compassionate, fervent in his praying. We lovingly referred to him as the "Apostle Paul" to Brazil..His impact for Christ was felt across this mission field
We look forward to rejoicing with him at the feet of Jesus for all eternity. It behooves we who remain to follow his godly example.
