Preacher James “Jimmy” William Rose, 84, beloved husband of Nancy Rose, of Greenville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 20, 2021.
Born in Denver, CO, he was the son of the late William and Maebelle Sturgill Rose.
Jimmy proudly served his country in the United States Army, he had a tremendous love and dedication to his country.
Preacher Rose was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church for 67 years. God called him into the ministry, and in 1962, he went into the mission field of Brazil.
He would always say “I promise when we get to heaven, we will meet you with hundreds or even thousands of Brazilians that have been saved.” His desire was to see souls saved whether it be on the mission field or at home. He loved his local church, and pastors but his greatest love was for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, followed by the love he had for his wife, Nancy and their children.
He touched many lives; brought many to the knowledge of the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and showed them by the life he led what it meant to be a Christian. He will be forever missed, but in his own words “Keep on Keeping on”.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Terrill Rose (Adriana); daughter, Sharon Nunes (Milton);grandchildren, Stephanie, Adriel, Estevan, Jessica and James; and great grandchildren, Emily, Lauren, Nathan, Lucas and Sofia.
