Rachel B Morgan

Rachel B. Morgan, joined her Lord and Savior on March 18, 2008. Born in Suffolk, VA on January 28, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Mary V. and Terence Barden. A former resident of Lisbon Road, Chesapeake, VA, Rachel moved to Greenville in 2002 to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Carl Thomas. Rachel was a former member and one time faithful choir member at Simonsdale Presbyterian Church in Portsmouth, VA. She was a current and active member of St. Giles Presbyterian Church and an active member of The Presbyterian Women and the Tuesday Evening Circle. Surviving are two daughters, Sue Thomas and her husband, Carl, of Greenville and Cindy Jeffers of Chesapeake, VA; two grandsons, Greyson C. Thomas of Columbia and C.G. Thomas, III of Los Angeles, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Truitt Morgan and two brothers. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Meadowbrooke Memorial Gardens in Suffolk, VA with the Reverend Martha Goodman, Simonsdale Presbyterian Church, officiating. A memorial service to honor Rachel's life will be conducted by the Reverend Matt Matthews on Monday, March 31, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Giles Presbyterian Church.
