Raymond “Dale” Burnett

Raymond “Dale” Burnett, 82, of Greenville, husband of Evangeline Burnett, died Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

Born in Marietta, SC, he was the son of the late William and Eugenia Cox Burnett.

A veteran of the US Marine Corps and a proud Shriner, Dale was a member of Monaghan Baptist Church. A department manager of JP Stevens Monaghan Plant, he later owned and operated Burnett’s Auto Sales. A devoted husband to his loving wife of 61 years he was a loving father, grandfather, and loyal family man. He was known as a giving person who could do anything he set his mind and heart to.

He is survived by son, Tracy Burnett; daughter, Lisa Burnett Ivey; grandchildren, Christopher Todd Burnett (Amy), Shena Austin Burnett, Deidra Michelle Burnett, Tabitha Ivey Kelley (Devon), and Justin Martin Taylor; great grandchildren, Natalie Grace Burnett, Kameron Ray Kelley, Jameson Ray Burnett, Atticus Knox Kelley; brother, Terry Burnett (Debbie); and sister, Kookie Maddox (Doug).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Betty Burgess; and daughter-in-law, Rene Burnett.

A visitation will be held Saturday, January 06, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest, with the funeral service to follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel. Burial will be held in Graceland Cemetery West .
