The Reverend Anthony Kevin Landon, passed away on April 14, 2024, at the age of 70 in Simpsonville surrounded by the love of his family. Born on November 16, 1953 in Crisfield Maryland, he was the son of the late Jack and Bette Landon.
He evangelized for many years and previously worked as a trooper with the Maryland State Police until God called him into full time ministry. He spent over 35 years spreading the word of God as a Ordained Bishop with the Church of God, in Cleveland, Tennessee and in various states, including Arizona, Maryland, Missouri, Kentucky, and South Carolina. Throughout his ministry, Reverend Landon touched the hearts of so many through his compassionate ministry, leading congregations in faith and love. He was a member of Travelers Rest Church of God.
As a Doctor of Exegetical Theology he had a passion for the word of God and pointing people to Jesus Christ. He was an avid baseball fan. His two favorite things were the Bible and baseball, especially the New York Yankees.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife and partner in ministry of 26 years, Dawn (Miller) Landon; his cherished daughter, Bobbie Lyn Landon; grandchildren, Caleb Rider (Cheyenne), Ashley Rider-Bohr(Trevor), and Joseph Rider: great grandchildren, Audrey, Daniel, Grayson and Anthony; sister, Missy Horner; and brothers, Rob Landon and Gary Landon.
A visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the Travelers Rest Church Of God. The memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. and will be officiated by Bishop Bruce Rabon.
