Rev. Lewis Powell Harbin

Rev. Lewis Powell Harbin, 75, of 107 Woodland Drive, died Sunday, August 24, 2008. Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late John William Harbin and Ada Mae Thacker Harbin and husband of the late Gertrude Geneva Chappell Harbin. Mr. Harbin served in the US Army and retired as pastor of New Hope Bible Holiness Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Kathy Deloris Harbin Cox and husband Edward, of Greenville; two sons, Lee and Eddie Cothran, both of Greenville; seven granddaughters, Connie Pittman, Donna, Kala, Kelly, and Nichole Cothran, Trish Thomasson, and Vickie Waldrop; five brothers, Johnny, Jewel, Raymond, and Luther Harbin, and Leonard Mchaffey; and a sister, Louise Hamby. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 26, 2008 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service will be Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at 3:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Graceland East Memorial Park. The family is at their respective homes.
