Eddie Gay left a message on April 2, 2024:
Uncle Dick was a presence throughout my life. He was like a father as well as a friend and guide, to me. I have a lifetime of memories of him, but, the one that brings the most laughter to those of us involved is the Christmas bicycle with the skateboard incident being a close second. His absence will be felt by us all. It is hard picturing a life without his presence. He was a strong man with a huge heart and a ready smile and laugh. He loved his family, his God and his country. He was humble. I shall miss him so much. Heaven is going to be much richer by his presence there.
