Robbie Clayton Tumblin Reid

Robbie Clayton Tumblin Reid, 78, died Saturday, March 8, 2008. Born in Laurens County, Mrs. Reid was the widow of Joseph William Reid, Sr., and the daughter of the late Marvin and Janie Cox Tumblin. She was a homemaker and a member of West Gant First Baptist Church, where she taught children's Sunday School for 33 years. She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Reid McDow of Greenville and Robbie Reid Cox and her husband, Dr. John Cox of Easley; a son, Bill Reid and his wife Pam of Powdersville; five grandchildren, Janie Alice McDow, Sarah Elizabeth Cox, Nicolas Kerns Reid, Benjamin Michael Taylor and Morgan Bass; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lonnie Morvan of Shreveport, LA, Jane Green of Myrtle Beach, and Margaret McNeely of Powdersville; two brothers, Marvin Tumblin, Jr., of Aiken and Ned Tumblin of Greenville; and special friend and caretaker, Doris Whitner of Greenville , and staff of Riverside Living Center. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd Tumblin and Ted Tumblin; and son-in-law, John Archie "Jay" McDow, Jr. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
