Once in a great while, somone comes along in your life who is a complete joy to be around, an all around nice guy, and someone filled with integrity, compassion, and the sheer ability to work hard without complaint. Oh yes, And be a fun golfer as swell. Such was Bob Swan, a great friend and gifted human being. Bob and I shared our experiences at the real estate shop, the schoolbus yard, the park system...he was an employee, I was a mere volunteer, as well as on the golf course. We both also spent time in Cocoa Florida and could chat knowingly about the Brevard County community. I will miss him terribly but I am consoled by the great friendship we shared for many years in several locations. Swanee, you're in charge of getting us a good tee time. I look forward to seeing you once again, my friend. Its tough to say good bye so instead I'll say hello to our next get together!

I feel fortunate to live up the road from Bob and Pam Swan. Over the last couple of years, we became friends, often crossing paths during walks with their dogs, Gabby and Zuzu. Bob was always up for a chat. After we lost a pet, Bob knew we were looking to add a dog to our family. The first time we were out with our new dog, Max, we spotted Bob in the distance but turned the corner, hesitant to introduce Max to other dogs. Bob's voice carried across the road, "Whoa, whoa, whoa, what do you got there?!" His enthusiasm and humor were infectious, always leaving us in a better mood. One evening, my son was visiting from London, England. As we were out on another dog walk, Bob approached and exclaimed, "Here comes the British Invasion!" His sense of humor was matched by his compassion. During a difficult period in my life, Bob's warm hug was a much-needed comfort. He was a friend to my husband, Tom, and they lifted each other's spirits through tough times. The Swans are the kind of neighbors you can count on. My son even reached out to them around the holidays, asking if he could send my Christmas gifts to their home so they could wrap them and deliver them to me. This kind gesture put me in the Christmas spirit, and I feel lucky to have the support of great neighbors like Bob and Pam. Thank you, Bob, for being a friend and welcoming neighbor. You always lifted our spirits and put a smile on our faces. Our condolences to the Swan family. We wish you strength, comfort and peace. Bob will be greatly missed. Love, Gerlinde & Alex
