Robert Haden Stowe, Sr

Robert Haden Stowe, Sr., 81, of 101 Welcome View Drive, died Friday, June 20, 2008 at McCall Hospice House. Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. N. A. Stowe. Mr. Stowe retired from Greenville Paper Company and was a member of Dunean United Methodist Church. He played baseball and basketball for Dunean Mill and played baseball for the Greenville Spinners for many years. Surviving are his wife of fifty-nine years, Meta Stowe; two daughters, Susie Black and Robin Michael Hawkins; two sons, Bobby Sheri Stowe, and David Angela Stowe; four grandchildren, Michael Black, Jay Hawkins, Robert Stowe, III, and Kelly Stowe; and one great-grandchild, Corbin Black. Visitation will be Sunday, June 22, 2008 from 4:00 – 5:30 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service will be Monday, June 23, 2008 at 12 Noon at the funeral home. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, West. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vista Care Hospice, 15 Brendan Way, Suite 100, Greenville, SC 29615 or McCall Hospice House, 1836 West Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680. The family is at the residence.
