Robert Joseph ?Bob? Dilloway, 86, of 812 Medora Drive, husband of Mary Jane Furda Dilloway, died Sunday, August 14, 2005 at his residence. Born in Detroit, MI., he was the son of the late William T. and Dora Callahan Dilloway. A graduate of Pickney, Michigan, High School, Bob attended the Business Institute of Detroit and Michigan State University. Early in his career he was employed by General Motors, Oldsmobile Division. Holding various positions with Oldsmobile, Bob later became General Manager of the largest Oldsmobile dealership in Ohio and then transferred to Greenville, SC. as manager for the local Oldsmobile dealer Later Mr. Dilloway entered real estate working for The Caine Company, and finally with The Furman Company where he was Senior Vice President. In 1943, Mr. Dilloway entered the US Army where he served faithfully during WWII. Mr. Dilloway was a member of the Poinsett Club, the Commerce Club, the Greenville Valley Club, the Greenville City Club, Knights of Columbus, Greenville Board of Realtors, National Board of Realtors and South Carolina Board, the Chamber of Commerce, the 300 Club of the Chamber, Fund Drive for St. Francis Hospital, the Urban League, Greenville Memorial Hospital, Meals on Wheels, and the Order of Hibernians. He was also a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Surviving in addition to his wife are four daughters, Linda LaFrance of Pawleys Island, Peggy Greer of Simpsonville, Molly Abbate of Greenville, Julie Coates of Greer; a son, Robert Brian Dilloway of High Point, NC.; seventeen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two step-daughters, Karen Rampey of Liberty, Rachel Byrd of Greenville; and a step-son, Christopher Mott of Atlanta. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marian Schubel Dilloway. Memorials may be made to Catholic Charities, 204 Douthit Street, Greenville, SC 29601 or Vista Care Hospice, 4006 E. North Street, Greenville, SC 29615. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at 10:00 AM at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will be at the residence. Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown.
