Robert Louie Nelson, 81, of 18 Sequoia Dr., Greenville, died Thursday, November 2, 2006. Born in Belton, he was a son of the late George Calhoun and Wyonea Davis Nelson. He was a United States Army veteran, having served during WWII, and was self-employed as an accountant. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the entire staff of Laurel Baye Nursing Home for the care they provided to Mr. Nelson. He is survived by his wife, Jean Gaston Nelson; two daughters, Barbara Knight and her husband Bob of Greenville and Teressa Nelson and her boyfriend, Robert Garcia of Taylors; a son, Danny Nelson and his wife Debra of Moore, SC;, four grandchildren, Tara and Jeremy Johnson, Amber and Steven Mull, Anna Knight and Jean Knight; three great-grandchildren, Braeden and Ella Mull and Blaine Johnson; several nieces and nephews, and a sister-in-law, Pat Gaston of Anderson. Mr. Nelson was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters. Services will be held at the Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at 3:00 pm with visitation prior to the service at 2:00 pm. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Belton. Memorials may be made to the Meyer Center, 1132 Rutherford Rd., Greenville, SC 29609. The family will be at the home of a daughter, Barbara Knight, 107 Lanneau Dr., Greenville.
