Robert McDonald Parrish, 80, of 256 Ingleside Way, died Tuesday, January 15, 2008. Born in Savannah, GA, he was the son of the late Robert Sprague and Marguerite Robertson Parrish. Mr. Parrish was a retired mechanical engineer with J.E. Sirrine Company and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church where he served as usher. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Grace Whittington Parrish; three daughters, Paula P. Moore of Greenville, Patricia P. Idahosa of Simpsonville, and Donna P. Minix of Taylors; two sons, Robert M. Parrish, Jr. of Greenville, and Mark S. Parrish of Hendersonville, N.C.; and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by a grandson, Nicholas P. Lightsey and a great granddaughter, Janie Grace Moore. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church Building Fund, 3710 Augusta Rd., Greenville, SC 29605. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church with visitation following until 8 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 18, 2008 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
