Robert Wayne Ramsey

Robert Wayne ?Bob? Ramsey, 86, of 342 Golf Course Road, died on Tuesday, June 27, 2006. Born in Pleasantville, Ohio, he was a son of the late Jabe Ira and Pansy Miller Ramsey and husband of the late Helen Campbell Ramsey. Mr. Ramsey served in the U.S. Army Air Force stationed at Donaldson Army Air Base. He was a member and former Deacon of Washington Baptist Church. He served as a Sunday school director for thirty-three years and Emeritus for six years. He also was a former member of Piedmont Lions Club, Foothills Senior Golf Association, and Cornerstones of Washington Baptist Church. Mr. Ramsey was also the oldest renal transplant from Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Surviving are a son, Bobby Wayne Ramsey and wife Barbara Burns Ramsey, of Piedmont; two granddaughters, Erica Paige Ramsey and Elizabeth Grace Ramsey, both of Piedmont; and three sisters, Leona R. Walters of Lancaster, Ohio, Bernice R. Carney of Columbus, Ohio, and Eileen R. Sichini of Cincinnati, Ohio. He is predeceased by a brother, Marvin Thomas Ramsey. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 7:00 ? 8:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Services will be held on Friday at 3:00 p.m. at Washington Baptist Church. Burial will be at Washington Baptist Church Cemetery. The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorials made to Gideons International Living Memorial Bible Plan, Mauldin Camp, PO Box 503, Mauldin, SC 29662. The family is at the home of son, Bobby Ramsey, 88 Ferguson Road, Piedmont, SC.
