Ruth Helen McDowell

Ruth Helen Wilson McDowell, 91, wife of the late William Thomas McDowell, Sr., passed away on November 12, 2007. Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late Ansel and Hulda Wilson. Mrs. McDowell was a retired homemaker. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Greenville. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, William T. McDowell Jr., and Sue McDowell; two grandchildren, Thomas Lee McDowell and wife Emily, and William Gregory McDowell; two great grandchildren Katie and Lindsay; a sister, Ivory Dell Moore; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church, 304 E. Camperdown Way, Greenville, SC 29601. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at Woodlawn Memorial Park, where the family will receive friends following the service.
