Ruth McKinney Pearson

Ruth McKinney Pearson, 84, of 46 Brookside Drive, wife of Clyde A. Pearson, died Sunday, September 7, 2008 at Greenville Memorial Medical Center. Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late W.D. and Sunie Timmons McKinney. Mrs. Pearson was a graduate of Parker High School, Class of 1941, and retired from Meyers Arnold. She had been an active member of Calvary First Baptist Church since 1936 and was a member of the Fidelis Sunday School class. Surviving, in addition to her husband of 62 years, are a special niece, Pat McKinney of Greenville; a niece, Judy Rothfuss of Greenville; grandson, Justin McKinney and his wife, Michelle, of Travelers Rest; great granddaughter, Madison McKinney; and great niece, Missy Timms and her son, Jonah, of Greenville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy D. and Ford McKinney. She was the last surviving member of her birth family. Memorials may be made to Calvary First Baptist Church, Debt Retirement Fund, 11 Tampa Street, Greenville, SC 29609. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 9, 2008 from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at Calvary First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the home of Justin and Michelle McKinney, 18 Bilbury Way, Travelers Rest.
