Sallie Lee Neves

Sallie L. Bentley Neves, 86, of 23 Ridgeway Drive, wife of Lecel M. Neves, died Thursday, March 13, 2008 at St. Francis, Downtown. Born in Clinton, NC, she was the daughter of the late Robert James and Rossie Jane Lockaby Lucas. Mrs. Neves was retired from Union Carbide and a member of Laurel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jasper Joseph "Jack" Bentley; a daughter, JoAnn Mahaffey; two brothers and three sisters. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a step daughter, Patricia George of Greenville; two stepsons, Anthony Lecel Neves and his wife, Nancy, of Cleveland, TN, Sidney Neves of Greer; a son-in-law, Jack Mahaffey of Greenville; four grandchildren, Kay M. Hughes, Kimberly George, Meghan Mize and Ronnie Neves; and three great grandchildren, Hayley and Abbey Hughes and Cloe Mize. Memorials may be made to Open Arms Hospice, 1836 W. Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 16, 2008 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the downtown chapel. Burial will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the residence.
