Salma Kostantin Ashy

Salma Kostantin Ashy, 87, of 300 Rockmont Road, died Friday, February 24, 2006. Born in Antakia, Syria, Mrs. Ashy was the widow of Jawad Ashy and the daughter of the late Abdullah and Helena Saoud Kostantin. She was a member of the St. Rafka Maronite Community and devoted to her family. She is survived by four daughters, Hind Ashy of Greenville, Berthe Aoun of Beirut, Hanna Mobarak and her husband Elias of Syria, and Lila Balaian and her husband George of Syria; four sons, Peter Ashy and his wife Sandra of Greenville, Ramon Ashy of Greenville, Tony Ashy and his wife Debbie of Sumter, SC and Gus Ashy and his wife Karen of Anderson, SC; grandchildren, Anis, Sam and Ziad Aoun; Fadi and Zizi Mobarak, Livon and Lillian Balian, Jawad, Diana and Laura Ashy, Ramon Ashy, Jr., and Tony and Carlee Ashy; great-grandchildren, Ramon Ashy III, Devon, Ravon and Havon Ashy, Hana Maria and Chadi Aoun, Berthe and Chadi Aoun, Kaitlyn and Robert Nations, Sydney and Elias Mobarak, Zack Ashy, Julianna and Jason Abraham. The funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church. The Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 27 with visitation following until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Committal will be at Graceland East Memorial Park.
