Sammie E. Taylor

Sammie E. Taylor, 85 formerly of Ridgecrest Drive, widow of Lawrence Charles Taylor, died Thursday, January 4, 2007 at Shepherd?s Care. Born in Dillard, GA, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Sara Smith Bingham. Mrs. Taylor was retired from Pendleton Manor. She was a member of Northgate Baptist Church and the Ruth Sunday School class. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Almena T. and Tom Simon of Greenville, Debbie T. and Howard DeMore of Piedmont; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert R. and Nancy Taylor of Greenville; grandchildren, Natalie Simon Spray and her husband Patrick, Cindy Taylor Chemell and her husband Louie, Amy Taylor Amyette and her husband Brent, Ryan Taylor and Kellie Maddox, Scott DeMore and his wife Angel, Ginnie DeMore Simoncic and her husband Andrew; great grandchildren, Madison and Lindie Jane Spray, Taylor Chemell, Corinne and Rivers Amyette, Landon Taylor. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Taylor Simon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shepherd?s Care Bus Fund, 2100 N. Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville, SC 29609 or Northgate Baptist Church H.O.M.E. Missions Group, 633 Summit Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 6, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, January 7, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. in the downtown chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
