Samuel Freitus Dawsey

Samuel Freitus Dawsey, 86, husband of Ruth McCain Dawsey, died Thursday, June 19, 2008. Born in Aynor, SC, he was the son of the late Harley Capin and LaValle Rogers Dawsey. Mr. Dawsey was a retired Supervisor with the City of Greenville and a member of Aynor United Methodist Church. Surviving, in addition to his wife of 58 years, are a daughter, Louise Caldwell and husband Karl of Hoschton, GA; two grandchildren, Caitlin Rose Caldwell of Summerville, and Kyle Norris Caldwell of Columbia; a brother, James Arlis Dawsey of Myrtle Beach; and a sister, Shirley D. Johnson of Gallivant's Ferry. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Trevejo D. Fore, Roger Lee D. Vaught; and Myrial D. Brock and a brother, Jayroe Dawsey. Memorials may be made to Aynor United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 22, 2008 from 2 to 4 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at Aynor United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Aynor City Cemetery in Aynor, SC.
