Sara Azilee Baker Cobb

Sara Azilee Baker Cobb, age 93, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, March 16, 2006 at Stroud Nursing Home. Mrs. Cobb was a faithful member of Downtown Baptist Church for many years where she served as church secretary until the age of eighty. She is survived by two daughters, Sara Freida Cobb of Greenwood, SC and Martha C Forrest and husband Rev. Roy O. Forrest of Taylors; a son, C. Kenneth Cobb and wife Ellen R. Cobb, of Pawleys Island, SC; two daughters-in-law, Willene Cobb and Beverly Cobb, both of Savannah, GA; a close sister-in-law, Grace C. Willingham, of Spartanburg, SC; a sister, Helen C. Alexander, of Greer, SC; twelve grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Rev. James H. Cobb; a son, Cecil D. Cobb; and three brothers, Paul, Odell, and M.G. Baker. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the entire staff of Stroud Nursing Home who loved and cared for Mother throughout her years as a resident there. Services will be held on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest with visitation from 1:30 ? 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. The Rev. Joe Dempsey will be officiating the service. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, West. Memorials may be made to The Emerald Center Foundation, PO Box 3004, Greenwood, SC 29649.
