Sara Dickerson Clardy

Sara Dickerson Clardy, 87, widow of James Ralph Clardy, Sr., died Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at Hillcrest Hospital. Born in Elbert County, GA., she was a daughter of the late William Alexander and Icie Ruth Eavenson Dickerson. Mrs. Clardy was retired from Woodside Mills, Simpsonville and was a member of Overbrook Baptist Church. Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Helen S. and Clint Taylor of N. Wilkesboro, N.C., Glenda S. Hawkins of Charleston, Lynne C. and Eddie Lindeen of Easley; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Robert and Judy Skelton of LaJolla, CA.; a daughter-in-law, Martha Clardy; two sisters, Janice Slay and Wenona Woody both of Elberton, GA.; two brothers, Horace Dickerson of Jackson Springs, NC. and Paul Dickerson of Piedmont; seventeen grandchildren; and twenty great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, James R. Clardy, Jr. Memorials may be made to Overbrook Baptist Church, 1705 E. North Street, Greenville, SC 29607 or Meals on Wheels, 15 Oregon Street, Greenville, SC 29605. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 16, 2006 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:30 pm until 2:45 pm. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the home of Paul Dickerson, 207 Watergate Drive, Piedmont.
