Sara Elizabeth Beard

Sara S. Beard, 88, of 1200 Heritage Club Drive, widow of William Nott Beard, died Friday, March 2, 2007 at her daughter?s residence. Born in Bridgeport, CT., she was the daughter of the late Walter Moody and Ruth Minor Plumb Scott. Mrs. Beard was retired from Brevard College as a Professor and was a member of St. Peter?s Episcopal Church. Surviving are four daughters and three sons-in-law, L. Susan Beard of Los Angeles, CA., Shelton and Glenn Townley of Greenville, SC; Sandy and Paul Crenshaw of Bridgewater, VA., Betsy Beard and Pierre Croonenberghs of Belews Creek, NC.; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Laura Beard of Columbia, SC; and Scott and Gabi Winkler-Beard of Winterback, Germany; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a sister, Lois S. Vales of Greenville, SC. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter?s Episcopal Church.
