Sara Hope Rogers, 80, of 212 Greenleaf Drive, wife of William Rogers, died Thursday, December 13, 2007 at her residence. Born in Norway, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Olivett Phin Free. Mrs. Rogers was retired from Buncombe Street United Methodist Church and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Never one to complain, she lived her life giving and caring for others. She was a teacher, mentor, volunteer, devoted and loving wife of 58 years, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a woman of strong character, faith, wisdom and grace. She will be missed by us all. All she was has been restored by Gods grace and welcoming her home, heavens a better place. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three children, Pamela Rogers Faulkner of Greenwood, Ric B. Rogers and his wife, Paula, of Simpsonville, Kimberly Ann Rogers Kaplan of Piedmont; five grandchildren, Emma Hope Rogers, Shane Rogers, Brooke Hope Faulkner, Heather Faulkner and Clint Faulkner; and two brothers, Phin Free of Florence and Sandy Free of Orangeburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 2703 Augusta Street, Greenville, SC 29605 or Winyah Hospice, 880 S. Pleasantburg Drive, Suite 1A, Greenville, SC 29607. Visitation will be held Monday, December 17, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be held in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
