Sara L. Jones

Sara L. Jones, 81, of 206 Whitestone Avenue, Mauldin, died Sunday, June 4, 2006. Born in Mullins, SC, she was the daughter of the late Bascomb and Lucy Smith Lewis, and the wife of William G. Jones. Mrs. Jones was a graduate of Lander College and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher. She also served as president of United Methodist Women and served on various committees. Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, Michael G. Jones of Greer; a son Jimmy Jones and his wife, Jill of Greer; three brothers, Donald Lewis of Aiken, Kenneth Lewis of Fayetteville, NC, and Pat Lewis of Charlotte, NC; two grandchildren, Jeff Jones of Greer and Amanda Jones of Mauldin; and one great-grandchild, Matthew Ryan Jones. She was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Lewis, and a grandson, Cliff Jones. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 2703 Augusta St., Greenville, SC 29605, or Interim Hospice, 775 Spartan Blvd., Spartanburg, SC 29301. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church with visitation prior to the service from 12:30 until 1:15 p.m. Burial will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the residence.
