Sarah "Sally" Hughes McDonald, 72, died Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at McCall Hospice House. Born January 30, 1936, in Liverpool, England, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Dalzell Hughes. Mrs. McDonald was the retired owner of Sally's Custom Draperies. She was also a member of Greenville Newcomers and a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Edward "Eddie" McDonald; three daughters and sons-in-law, Collette and Kim Kauffman of Greer, Bernadette and Kevin Wharton of Uniontown, OH, Sandra and Tony Milli of Parma, OH; two sisters, Marie Collins, Wyn Stuart; four brothers, Joe, John, Bernard and David Hughes all of England; seven grandchildren, Graham, Jared, Bradley and Kristen Kauffman, Daniel, Michael and Kevin Wharton. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Elliott and Ann Hourston. Memorials may be made to Open Arms Hospice, 1836 W. Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680. Recitation of the Rosary will be held Friday, February 1, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. with visitation to follow until 8:30 p.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the church. The family will be at the residence. The family wishes to thank the staff of Open Arms Hospice, especially Connie Henderson, R.N.
