Sarah N. “Nell” Hamilton

Mrs. Nell Ninestein Hamilton died, January 24, 2006 in Atlanta, GA. Born in Blackville, SC., she was the wife of Frank M. Hamilton and the daughter of Judge and Mrs. Albert H. Ninestein. She was a graduate of Lander College and Miss Campbell?s Business School in Columbia. During World War II she worked with the Army?s Air Force Command in Washington, DC and with the Transportation Corps at the Charleston Post of Embarkation. She also served as office manager to Senator Edgar A. Brown. Nell was a homemaker and a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, the Greenville Women?s Club, the Greenville Garden Club, the Girls Scouts, and the Humane Society. She was an avid gardener and was on the planning committee which landscaped the Greenville YMCA. She is survived by her daughter, Tedde Hamilton of Atlanta, GA; and a son, Chaplain Frank Hamilton of Dallas, TX. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2310 Augusta Road, Greenville, SC 29605. Visitation will be held Friday, January 27, 2006 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 28, 2006 at 1:00 PM at Westminster Presbyterian Church with interment to follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
