Shaw Edginor Brannon

Mr. Shaw Edginor Brannon, 82, of 102 Vine Hill Rd., Greenville, died Friday, April 28, 2006 at Laurel Baye Nursing Center. Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Robert Edginor and Lula Cox Brannon. He served his country in the US Army during WWII and The Korean Conflict. He retired from the Armed Forces after 23 years of service and from the US Postal Service after 15 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Brannon was a baseball player in the Greenville Textile League. He was a semi-pro catcher and signed a contract with the NY Giants. He was also an avid golfer. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Mrs. Evelyn Cothran Brannon; two daughters, Anne Johnson and husband Robert of Buena Vista, VA and Emily Jane Perkins of Possum Kingdom; two sons, Robert Brannon and wife Emily of Simpsonville and Randall Brannon of Greenville; one sister, Marguerite Rogers and husband Henry of Gray Court; five grandchildren, Robby Brannon, Shawn Brannon, Jodi Kloiber, Jason Perkins and Sarah Perkins; step-grandson, Jason Greene; three great-grandchildren, Asia and Cloe Brannon and Nicholas Shaw Kloiber; step great-grandchildren, Tiffany and Travis Galloway and ?Kaj? Kloiber. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Brannon; granddaughter, Jennifer Brannon; and brother, Baxter Brannon. Graveside services will be held on Monday at 3:00pm at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Southern Care Hospice, 1097 Hwy. 101 South, Suite D11, Greer, SC 29651. The family is at the residence, 102 Vine Hill Rd., Greenville.
