Carole I am so sorry to hear about Shirley. She was a very special lady, always dressed to the nines and sh lit up a room when she entered. She was my hero and saved my life, Her advice helped me to leave a dangerous situation. And I will always be grateful. I loved her and I’m know she loved me too.I wish that I knew that she was sick, I would like to have visited her. Please remember that you and your family are in my prayers

I always try to look at this transition as a positive. Although we are all saddened by our loved ones passing, I feel it’s a joyous occasion and a time for us to reflect on the memories that we are blessed to have with this precious lady being in our lives. Shirley has been a big part of my life for the last 50 years, since I was about 4 years old when we moved in across the street. I have so many memories of her, I wouldn’t know where to begin or end. She always treated me with love, and yes, that includes the occasional scolding when I did something wrong, but always with love. When I grew up and had kids, she loved my kids as well, and they adore her. Even though I moved out of the neighborhood 25 years ago, we talked often and I would visit as often as I could when I was in town passing through or just go for a visit. My family is your family, Shirley. We are all heartbroken by your passing, but happy for you to be able to be with your Mother, Kim, and all of your loved ones that have gone before you. You are loved and will be missed. Until we meet again, my dear friend. Love, Chris and the kiddos.

My Mother was in a rehab center in Decatur, Ga. We didn’t have a lot Of visitors and Mother was so depressed. Carol and Shirley came to visit her from SC. I can’t say enough of how much their unselfish show of love meant to Mother and me. We have sent cards of encouragement back and forth to each other through the years. I love Shirley and will miss her sweet demeanor and kindness. Rest in the arms of Jesus my dear friend.
