Shirley N Luttrell

Shirley J. Luttrell, 75, widow of Retired Lt. Col. Robert E. Luttrell, died Saturday, July 5, 2008 at McCall Hospice House. Born in Louisville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Robert Leonard and Jenny Lucille Norris. Mrs. Luttrell was a homemaker and member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Denise Lynne and Huston Wheeler of Greenville, Midge Leigh and Jeff Orszak of Greenville; a brother, Ronald Norris of Kentucky; and a sister, Betty N. Burkhead of Kentucky. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Cristoffer Michael Douty. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 1817 Gadsden Street, Columbia, SC 29201 or McCall Hospice House, 1836 W. Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2008 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at Brushy Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Graceland East Memorial Park. The family will be at the home of a daughter and son-in-law, Midge and Jeff Orszak, 517 Meadowsweet Lane, Greenville, SC 29615.
