Sloan T. Gillespie. 80, of 121 Woodside Road, husband of Cora Worthy Sloan, died Monday, January 29, 2007 at his residence. Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Mitchell C. and Bessie Coleman Gillespie. Mr. Gillespie was of the Baptist faith. He was a United States Navy Veteran having served during WWII and was a member of the Mauldin Masonic Lodge. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Teresa Gillespie of Simpsonville; three sons, Gaines Gillespie of Florida, Leland Gillespie of Simpsonville; and Steve Allen Gillespie, and his wife Belinda, of Easley; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. Memorials may be made to the charity of one?s choice. Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Graceland Cemetery, West.
