Sue Davis Major, 87, widow of Sidney Major, Sr., died Thursday, February 28, 2008 at NHC of Greenville. Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Dexter and Susan Alverson Davis. Mrs. Major was a homemaker and member of Parisview Baptist Church. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Sid and Claudia Major of Greenville; and five sisters, Anne Godfrey of Greenville, Lois Jones of Columbia, Inez Berdiner of Greenville, Hester Cook of Ohio and Nancy Cantrell of Easley. She was preceded in death by a sister, Cleo Davis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Connie Maxwell Children's Home, 810 Maxwell Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646. A graveside service will be held Friday, February 29, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family wishes to thank NHC of Greenville, Hawthorne Inn, and Caris Hospice for their care and concern.

Sue's son Sid was my first friend outside my family, when I was about 3. She drove me to school and was always supportive of my sisters and me. Rest in peace.
