Sylvia G. Hughes

Sylvia G. Hughes, 56, of 201 Crane Avenue, died Tuesday, September 11, 2007. Born in Easley, she was a daughter of Kathryn Roper Gillespie of Greenville and the late Jay Gillespie, Jr. Mrs. Hughes was formerly employed with Steele Heddle GTP and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Randy Lee Hughes, Sr., of the home; a stepson, Randy Lee Hughes, Jr. and wife Lisa, of Pickens; three grandchildren, Shanna, Ryan, and Brett; six sisters, Brenda Moore of Greenville, Bethel Jones of Simpsonville, Shirley McQuerns of Gray Court, Wanda Walker of Fountain Inn, Carol Gillespie of Travelers Rest, and Angie Franks of Easley; four brothers, Ancel Gillespie of Greenville, Wayne Gillespie of Greer, Darrell Gillespie of Simpsonville, and Allen Gillespie of Greer. Services will be held Friday at 12 Noon at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest with visitation from 10:30 ? 11:45 am prior to the service. Burial will be at Graceland East Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615. The family is at the home of Kathryn Gillespie, 4 Newberry Street, Greenville.
