Thad C. Bishop

Thad C. Bishop, 81, of 20 Mallory Street, widower of Frances N. Bishop, died Sunday September 17, 2006 at Greenville Memorial Medical Center. Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Manley and Alice Hawkins Bishop. Mr. Bishop was retired from Sears and was a member of Overbrook Baptist Church where he was in the Hawkins Nolin Sunday School class. He was a United States Army Veteran having served during WWII, a Mason and a Shriner. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Deb and Rick Tiszai of Lake Wylie, S.C.; a daughter-in-law, Rita Pace of Taylors; a brother, William Bishop of Easley; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anne Hice Bishop, a sister, Bertha Taylor, a brother, Harold Bishop, two daughters, Carole and Kathy Bishop, a grandson, Grant Tiszai, and a stepson, Larry Pace. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Overbrook Baptist Church, 1705 E. North Street, Greenville, SC 29607. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will be at their respective homes.
