Thelma Eleanor Smith

Thelma Eleanor Smith, 87, formerly of 116 West Faris Road, widow of George H. Smith, died Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at Westside Nursing Center. Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Hovey Lee and Georgia Cromer Smith. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Augusta Road Community Club, the Greenville Women?s Club, and was a mail room volunteer for over 50 years with Greenville Memorial Hospital. Surviving are two sons and daughter-in-law, David G. Smith of Ridgeville, SC, Louie D. and Diane Smith of Greenville; and two grandchildren, Taylor and Cameron Smith. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Louie C., Emmett, Dennis, and Loyd Smith; and a sister, Felicia Smith McClure. Memorials may be made to the Trinity Foundation, 2703 Augusta Street, Greenville, SC 29605. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 22, 2005 from 6:00 until 7:30 PM at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. A memorial service will be held in the garden of Trinity United Methodist Church Saturday, September 24, 2005 at 11:00 am.
