Theresa Carver Hammons, 79, widow of Aaron B. Hammons, Sr., died Monday, October 6, 2008 at Piedmont Living Center. Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Glenn and Edna Carver Barnett. Mrs. Hammons was a homemaker and member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Surviving are six children, Rebecca Watkins, Aaron Hammons, Jr. and Charles Hammons all of Greer, Sheryle Gassaway of Duncan, Merry Beth Snyder of Greenville and Julia Humphries of Greer; eighteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Carter; a son, Richard Hammons and a brother. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 08, 2008 from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. in the downtown chapel. Burial will follow on Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will be at 7 Gibson Oak Drive, Greer.
