Thomas E. "Gene" Ross, 76, of 413 Pine Lake Circle, widower of Minnie "Billie" Roberts Ross died Monday, September 29, 2008. Born in Conestee, he was a son of the late Harley C. and Annie Maude Davenport Ross. Mr. Ross was retired from Cryovac and attended Trinity Baptist Church. He was a United States Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Jerry Kelly of Simpsonville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Kathy Ross of Simpsonville and Terry and Cathy Ross of Greenville; two brothers, Bill Ross of Hickory Tavern and Vincent Ross of Greenville; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Ross and a brother, Earl Ross. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 2, 2008 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the church. Burial will be in Conestee Community Cemetery. The family will be at the home of a son, Terry Ross, 229 Tar Blvd., Greenville.
