Thomas Gordon Brown

July 30, 1955 - October 23, 2008
Thomas "Tommy" Gordon Brown, beloved son and brother, 53, of 1524 Christopher Lane, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, October 23, 2008. Born in Greenville, he was the son of Gordon and Clara Ferguson Brown of Greenville. Tommy was owner of Oxford House Cafeteria on Poinsett Highway and a former employee of WFBC WYFF Channel 4. He was a member of Berea First Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his parents are five sisters, Juyne Brown Peyer of Taylors, Willette Brown Johnson Mike of Powdersville, Treva Brown Davis Donnie of Powdersville, Joy Brown Daniels Tony of Greenville, and Kristen Brown Shorter KJ of Fairmont, NC; three nieces, Amanda Coates, Lauren Johnson, and Bailee Farr Daniels; four nephews, Matthew Davis, Blaine Johnson, Isaac Daniels, and James Thomas Shorter; and a great-nephew, Trey Coates. The funeral will be Sunday, October 26, 2008 at 3:00 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest with visitation from 1:30 – 3:00 pm prior to the service. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Easley, SC.
The family gives special thanks to the nursing staff of St. Francis Hospital. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Life Point, Inc., 4200 Faber Place Drive, Charleston, SC 29405. Family members are at their respective homes.
