Thomas Jeremiah Nuckolls Jr., 83, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Greenville, SC, Jerry was the son of the late Thomas Jeremiah Nuckolls Sr. and Elizabeth Eskew Nuckolls, and attended Clemson University. Jerry’s career included many years at Builder Marts of America, and he served in various capacities including Vice President of Forest Products.
Jerry was a long-time member of Buncombe Street United Methodist Church where he served on various committees. He also volunteered for Meals on Wheels, taught children’s Sunday school and served as an usher. His gentle soul responded to many in need.
Jerry will be remembered by family and friends as a loving father, grandfather, and husband. His sense of humor was the best, and he kept this humor even during his recent tough times. He was a man of great faith and spoke often of the joy he received from his Roundtable Sunday school class.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Yvonne Vernon Nuckolls; his two daughters, Robbin Nuckolls, and Betsy Nuckolls Elliott (Michael); his son, Tom Nuckolls (Beth); stepdaughter, Loren Brown Edwards; sister, Ann Nuckolls Cook; and grandchildren, James Elliott, Ann Lowe Elliott, Alice Elliott, Day Nuckolls, Avery Nuckolls, Thomas Nuckolls, Reese Hensley, and Emmalee Edwards.
A service will be held Friday, September 17, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. at Buncombe Street United Methodist Church. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:45 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
