Ray Shirley, 43, of 4712 Jamee Drive, Gastonia, NC, died Saturday, January 14, 2006 at Grace Hospital, Morganton, NC. Born in Greenville, Mr. Shirley was the son of Thomas Edward Shirley of Gastonia, NC, and Judith Elaine Smith Brown of San Clemente, CA. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Jeff Shirley of Morganton, NC; a niece, Denise Shirley of Morganton, NC; a cousin, Vikki Shirley of Atlanta, GA; two uncles and aunts, Jim and Shelby Jean Shirley and Bob and Mary Jane Frechette, all of Winter Haven, FL. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Visitation will be held from 2:00 ? 2:45 Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
