Thomas Richard Anderson

Thomas Richard Anderson passed away at the age of 92 on February 22, 2024.

He was the son of Mary Lou and R.H. Anderson of Newberry, SC.

Richard is survived by his wife, Harriet Reid Anderson; his daughters Josie Shelton (Greg) of Fountain Inn, SC and Rebecca Pachucki (Mark) of Rockville, VA. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Mark W. Pachucki, Kate Shelton and Greg Shelton. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Anderson, Jr.

Richard graduated from Clemson University. He served in the US Army in France as a first lieutenant. He and his wife have fond memories of their life overseas. He and Harriet later enjoyed traveling. Richard’s chosen career was in textile management. He retired from the Institute of Textile Technology in Virginia. Richard and Harriet moved to Fripp Island, SC and lastly to Lake Keowee in Seneca, SC. Richard loved his Clemson Tigers and cheered them on to many victories. He had good lifelong friends. He loved the dogs in his life beginning with Muggs. Richard was devoted to his family and they in turn adored him.

A private burial service will be held at Monticello Memory Gardens in Charlottesville, VA.
