Tryston Taylor Crawford, 23, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021.

Born in Greenville, SC, he was a son of Kevin and Melissa Talley Crawford, and big brother to Addison and Kaden Jon Crawford.

Tryston was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church where he served in the children’s ministry as a fifth grade teacher. He volunteered as a baseball coach and mentored young athletes. Tryston had a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University and was employed at Eastern Power Technologies.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Addison Crawford; brother, Kaden Jon Crawford; paternal grandparents, Eugene and Deloris Crawford; maternal grandparents, Jimmy and Barbara Talley; uncle, Scott Crawford; and two aunts, Angie Hutchins and Linda Brock.

A visitation will be held Friday, November 19, 2021 from 12:45 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Rocky Creek Baptist Church, 1801 Woodruff Road, Greenville, followed by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.

The Crawford family wishes to begin an initiative to honor Tryston’s heart for Jesus, children, and the gospel. The family will use the funding to be involved in ministry in ways the Lord prompts their hearts in regard to the following:

Sharing the gospel with children and their families
Offering hope for families going through cancer
Making others aware of testicular cancer

In lieu of flowers and to further Tryston’s impact and to honor his memory, gifts can be sent through Venmo using @trystonshopefund or donations can be mailed to Tryston’s Hope Fund at 2417 Roper Mountain Road, Simpsonville, SC 29681.

I just heard from a good friend of mine at Clemson about Tryston’s passing. I didn’t know him too well, but we went to high school at GTCHS together. I wish I had the privilege of calling him a friend because he seemed like an amazing individual. So many accomplishments and the fact that he is still making an impact with his hope fund, truly inspiring. Sending prayers and love to Tryston and all those he loved and made an impact on.

Kevin and Mellisa - Darlene and I were very saddened to hear about the passing of Tryston. May God give you both and the entire family peace that surpasses all understanding. Tryston was always a hard worker. He pushed himself to succeed at whatever he was connected to. I remember those ethics when he was my starting quarterback at 7 years old. I will forever remember Tryston. May God give the Crawford family Peace and Comfort. -Eddie Sullivan

Tryston fulfilled his mission and has moved on in seemingly a short time, however his 23 years, will live on forever. I was blessed to watch him grow into the wonderful young man that he is. From a 6 year old quarterback with the Mauldin Falcons to a Mechanical Engineer, and assistant coach with his Dad. Kevin, Melissa, Addy, and KK, my prayers for comfort and strength are with you, but just know where Tryston is t is in blissful joy today and you will see him again.

Crawford family I am so sorry for your loss. You should be very proud of the young man that you raised. He was an inspiration to many and the people he touched and will continue to touch is immeasurable.

Melissa and Kevin, Addy and Kaden, my prayers and love are with you all! I have such sweet memories of Tryston’s precious smile and demeanor in kindergarten! I will continue to cover you in prayer in the days ahead.

I know I am sorry for your loss does not seem enough at a time like this. Our family will miss seeing him at church, and what an awesome Christian young man he was! If there is anything we can do please let us know. I can't begin to truly understand the loss of a child or a sibling, but know we are praying for you to somehow find the strength to carry on, as I feel Tryston would want you to.
